A luxuriously smooth and refreshing chocolate cocktail made with our rich, velvety Dark Hot Chocolate. Served ice cold with a delicate chocolate garnish, it’s the perfect indulgence for warm summer evenings, garden parties or an after-dinner treat.
Ingredients (serves 2)
- 200ml Maison Dieu 1652 Dark Hot Chocolate, well chilled
- 100ml vodka
- 50ml coffee liqueur
- Ice cubes
- Dark chocolate, finely grated
- Fresh mint sprigs, to garnish (optional)
Method
1. Chill the glasses:
Place two martini glasses in the freezer for 10 minutes before serving.
2. Fill the shaker:
Add plenty of ice to a cocktail shaker, then pour in the chilled Mint Dark Hot Chocolate, vodka and coffee liqueur.
3. Shake well:
Shake vigorously for around 20 seconds until the outside of the shaker feels ice cold.
4. Strain and serve:
Double strain into the chilled martini glasses for a beautifully smooth finish.
5. Garnish:
Finish with a light dusting of finely grated dark chocolate and, if desired, a sprig of fresh mint.
Serving Suggestion
Serve as an elegant after-dinner cocktail alongside chocolate truffles or fresh strawberries. For a lighter, lower-alcohol version, simply shake the chilled Dark Hot Chocolate with ice and pour into a martini glass for a deliciously refreshing summer mocktail.
