Creamy baked Brie topped with sweet-and-spicy chilli jam, served as an easy autumn party appetizer.
Ingredients:
- 1 small wheel of Brie or 200–250g Brie
- 4–5 tbsp Wooden Spoon chilli jam
- 1 sheet puff pastry (optional, if making individual pastry bites)
- Crackers, toasted baguette or seeded biscuits, to serve
- Fresh rosemary, for garnish
- A handful of walnuts or pecans, optional
- Fresh figs or grapes, to serve
Method:
- Prepare the Brie: Cut the Brie into small bite-sized wedges or cubes. Leave the rind on.
- Bake: Place the Brie pieces on a lined baking tray and bake at 180°C / 350°F for 8–10 minutes, until softened and gooey but not completely melted.
- Add the Chilli Jam: Spoon approximately ½ teaspoon of chilli jam over each warm piece of Brie.
- Serve: Arrange on a wooden serving board with crackers, grapes, figs, nuts and fresh rosemary.
- Enjoy warm: Serve immediately while the Brie is soft and the chilli jam is glossy and warm.
Serving Suggestion:
Serve with lightly whipped cream, crème fraîche or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Perfect enjoyed outdoors with afternoon tea or as a delicious finale to a relaxed summer lunch, making the most of one of Britain’s most treasured seasonal fruits.
Easy Halloween Twist:
For a more festive presentation, arrange the Brie bites around a small bowl of chilli jam and add mini pumpkins, autumn leaves and rosemary to the grazing board.
