The terms are often used interchangeably, but traditionally jam is smooth and evenly set, conserve contains larger pieces of fruit, and preserve is the broad category covering both. Our jams focus on a rich fruit flavour and a natural set, whether smooth or gently textured depending on the fruit.
All of our jams are made as extra jam, meaning a higher fruit content than standard jam, with no artificial colours or preservatives. Using more fruit gives a fuller flavour, deeper colour, and a more satisfying spoonful that tastes of fruit first, not sugar.
Yes. All of our traditional fruit jams are suitable for vegetarians and vegans. If a product differs, this will always be clearly stated on the label.
Our jams are designed to be fruit-forward rather than sugar-led. Sweetness is balanced to highlight the natural character of each fruit. If you’re looking for an even lighter option, our No Added Sugar Jam range uses unsweetened apple juice concentrate instead of refined sugar or you might enjoy the sharper citrus notes of our Marmalades or the richness of our Curds.
Classic favourites like Strawberry, Raspberry, and Apricot remain bestsellers, but some of our most loved jars are the more distinctive ones – such as the Oopsie Daisy Cherry & Raspberry, born from a happy kitchen accident, and the deeply traditional Brook Damson Jam, a Kentish favourite. Many of our bestselling jam flavours are also available in gift jars and curated gift sets, making them an easy choice for birthdays and thank-you gifts.
Where possible, yes. We prioritise British and locally sourced fruit when it’s in season, particularly for traditional flavours like damson and soft fruits. Availability can vary depending on harvest quality and time of year.
Once opened, jam should be stored in the fridge and enjoyed within around one week for best flavour and freshness. Always use a clean spoon and refer to the label for guidance.
Absolutely. Our jams are ideal for baking and cooking – use them in traybakes, sponge cake fillings, tarts, thumbprint biscuits, or gently warmed as a glaze for pastries and desserts.
