The Wooden Spoon Preserving Company Ltd is delighted to attend the forthcoming
Edinburgh Speciality Fine Food Fair, and is hoping to build upon its
success at Olympia last Autumn.
Already listed in prestige outlets such as The House of Bruar and Jenners,
the aim for Wooden Spoon is to further enhance its presence in the independent
sector of the growing Scottish market. ‘We have received much encouragement
in Scotland, and felt that this year it was time to attend the Edinburgh
show,’ explained director Jeff Higgins. ‘We would ideally
like to appoint a distributor for Scotland, but we have been making good
progress under our own steam!’ he added.
Winners of four gold and silver Great Taste Awards in 2005, the company
will once again send a mouth-watering selection to the panel in 2006,
but will focus upon the launch of an exciting new range of fruits in
liqueurs in Edinburgh.
Wooden Spoon was founded 30 years ago in Wye, Kent, with the aim of producing
preserves using traditional methods and only natural ingredients. Today
the company produces a range of jams and marmalades that the ‘home
made’ connoisseur would be proud of. We are also a leader in the
Fruits in Liqueur market, and provide a growing range of chutneys, sauces,
jellies and mustards. The company is based in an idyllic setting below
the Wye Crown, and visitors can view production from a gallery situated
in our small shop.
