The Wooden Spoon continues to add award winning preserves to its range. It was announced this week that two new products – Wye Strawberry Extra Jam and Three Fruit marmalade have been awarded Gold at this year’s Great Taste Awards organised by the Guild of Fine Foods.

“We were not sure what to enter this year”, enthused owner Jeff Higgins, “as we have some new exciting products in the pipeline that did not quite make the entry deadline.” Entering these two best sellers proved that there is no harm in benchmarking the company’s traditional product range against the competition.

Wooden Spoon was founded 30 years ago in Wye, Kent, with the aim of producing preserves using traditional methods and only natural ingredients. Today the company produces a range of jams and marmalades that the ‘home made’ connoisseur would be proud of. We are also a leader in the Fruits in Liqueur market, and provide a growing range of chutneys, sauces, jellies and mustards. The company is based in an idyllic setting below the Wye Crown, and visitors can view production from a gallery situated in our small shop.
