About Us

The company’s name encapsulates the essence of why it was created over 30 years ago by Ann and Peter Bolt: the desire to use traditional methods to produce a truly unique range of preserves using natural ingredients.

Our challenge from the outset was to provide jams and marmalades which individually would be approved by the discerning ‘home made’ connoisseur whilst as a range unrivalled in its variety. In the process, we have also gained a reputation as a leader in the Fruits in Liqueur market, and have built upon this expertise to provide a comprehensive selection of products across the conserves and preserves sectors.

Produced by Hand

'By hand' literally means the preparation, cooking, stirring (with wooden spoons and spatulas!) potting, capping and labelling! As a result, we can rarely produce more than 100 jars per pan, and means that each individual finished jar is inspected at least three times! Our quality control goes beyond the ‘visual’, however, with our facilities and procedures meeting the strictest health and safety guidelines.

Master Preservers

Traditional techniques alone are not enough to produce the ultimate preserves: Our kitchen is staffed by highly skilled Master Preservers, whose artistry in achieving the optimal suspension of fruits and ingredients throughout the jar for our jams and marmalades is second to none.
